How do you manage such a low price?

The keys to our low prices are volume (running huge numbers of servers); specialization (we only run HL1 and HL2 servers); no paid advertising or marketing, and a tiny design budget (as you can see here); and that we only give bare help through email, so we have low staffing costs (we don't offer live chat help or phone help).

How can you say you're the fastest? Don't you have to cut corners on hardware or bandwidth like every other company at your price point?

Our volume allows us to leverage the lowest prices for both bandwidth and hardware and saves us from having to make any sacrifices. We use premium bandwidth from InterNAP and other top-shelf providers, as well as a multitude of direct peerings. We use the fastest hardware available, including dual, dual-core Opteron machines and dual, quad-core Xeon machines.

Why don't you give a discount for private servers?

Private servers don't cost us anything less to run than public servers, so we've made all servers the same price per slot. You can add a password if you want, or keep your server open to anyone. It's up to you.

Can I get a configuration not mentioned on the page, like a different number of player slots, or a different acceleration level?

Nope. We support very few configurations in order to keep things simple and inexpensive. We don't support more slots than 32 because servers get very expensive to run after that, and we don't support less than 12 because they're too cheap below that for us to make any money on them. (And we don't make much money anyway.)

I need help with a plugin, or a map, or registration/choke problems, or my routing to the server isn't too hot. Can you fix it?

If you have a problem that's our fault, like your server machine crashing or your server crashing when it's not running any customizations at all, you should email us to ask what's going on. But beyond that, we're sorry; you'll have to investigate them yourself. One of the biggest ways we save money is by limiting our support.

Do you accept other payment types than Paypal?

Paypal works well and has low fees, and those are the biggest factors for us, so we plan to stick with them. But, we are investigating other options.

How do I cancel?

Simply cancel the subscription in Paypal. We describe how at the bottom of our TaCoS page.

I want a refund. How do I get one?

We don't offer refunds, and there are no exceptions to this rule. Our servers aren't exactly expensive to begin with, so hopefully this won't be a problem.

Can you add a certain new gametype, or voice servers, or webhosting, to your lineup?

No; to get one of those, you'll have to go to a different company. We just run cheap game servers here.

Would you allow me to hack my (normally Steam-based) server so I can run it outside of the Steam system?

No, this violates our (and your) agreement with Valve.
